Low vision symptoms include difficulty with the following:
You’re typically diagnosed to have low vision when your peripheral vision is considerably damaged or if your vision is 20/70 or worse.
You may also be diagnosed as legally blind once the vision in your best eye reaches 20/200 or worse.
Understand, however, that this condition doesn’t mean you’re totally blind.
Many folks suffering with degenerative eye diseases still possess useful vision. But without low vision aids, every day activities such as watching television, reading, or driving become quite difficult.
The first signs usually appear when you see straight objects (such as fence post) becoming wavy, or curved. You may see spots or blurred areas in your vision.

I understand the emotional toll losing sight causes you. I also have this disease. It’s easy to become depressed, lonely and feel as though your independence has been taken away from you.
The fact that you may be affected in a minor way all the up to being almost totally blind makes it hard for me to know the full extent to how you’ve been affected.

Although low vision can’t be fixed through the use of contact lenses, eyeglasses, surgery or pharmaceuticals, there are a variety of technological advancements that have made living with low vision symptoms easier.
